Central Washington Antique Farm Equipment Club:
People Wagon Repairs, New Signs, & Maintenance

By Clay Graham / CegPics.com

July 11th 2024, Kent brought the Central Washington Antique Farm Equipment Club’s Small People Wagon to Graham Family Farm so we can do some maintenance, repair the front axle, and paint the side boards with the club logo and name so it can be seen better in parades.

Monday August 5 2024, Doc Graham, Charlie Graham, and I worked on removing the Central Washington Antique Farm Equipment Club Small People Wagon front axle for repairs. The axle tube was bent in a few different directions and the hitch tongue is bent too. We delivered the bent parts to Bill Allen on Tuesday August 6, 2024.

Charlie’s wife Hailey was planning on the Central Washington Antique Farm Equipment Club logo on each side of the wagon, but the wood is not in the best of shape. Kent found some polyboard at Home Depot for us to look at to put vinyl decals on. We pick up a sheet at and cut in half.

On Tuesday August 20th, 2024, Doc and I picked up the repaired Small People Wagon axle and tongue from Kent. I am not sure who did the repairs. A few days later we used rust neutralizer on them, primered, and then painted the parts. After the painted was dried, we put the parts back on the People Wagon.

Lisa cut the vinyl out for the signs and picked it. Odo and I put the transfer paper on. The next part was a pain measuring out and placing the decals. This took sometime since we had to piece everything together on the polyboard since our vinyl machine is small. I think it worked out just fine.

Charlie cut down a 2×4 so we could use the pieces to frame for the polyboard signs. I painted the frame and the sides of the wagon. Once the paint was dry, Charlie and Doc helped put the signs on, then Charlie framed them.

We tightening loose bolts and then Doc lube the wheel bearings.

This was a good project for our whole family. We hope the decals don’t come off the polyboard. This is the first time for us using polyboard to put decals on.
